ONE THING I WOULD CHANGE ABOUT THE WORLD by Insiya Saifee

It’s hard to do it. I know that. But, maybe if I don’t make people aware of it today, I might never get a chance again. You might be thinking what I am talking about. Right?
I am talking about all of us!! Our actions! Our doings! Do you know how our earth looked thousands of years ago?
Well, let me tell that it was much more beautiful, much more winsome, much more appealing. It was neither smoky and stained nor selfish and black. It was the earth many people desire today. Our Earth… Bright blue seas and glistening green plains, all just natural and fresh. But what have we done?
We have made our Earth worthless and almost unsurvivable. You all know that we need oxygen to survive. But we are chopping down our chances to survive. TREES! Did you know that we lose 6 billion tress every year, 2.47 million trees every day and moreover nearly 100 trees every minute, through the waste of resources. Why? For paper. Mostly paper. 4 billion trees are cut down every year for paper. But what is paper?
Something that we waste every year, every minute, every second. 512.3 million pounds of paper are wasted every day. How? Why?
To make paper airplanes and fly them around the class, while making a sketch we crush papers and throw them in the dustbin even if one line goes wrong. We’re cutting off to spite the face. We’re digging a hole, and soon we will only fall in it.
However, there are ways in which we can fill up this hole. If we stick to these solutions we could stop mankind from becoming extinct, stop the earth from getting destroyed. let’s do it.
Solution 1:
Stop! Stop using so much of paper. If we don’t want to become extinct this is the first step. We can try using less printed work. Stop making useless things. From the airplanes we fly around the classroom, we each can save 15 trees. How wonderful!
Solution 2:
Plant! Let’s start planting more trees! The more we plant, maybe one day we will make it up to enough trees. Every tree you plant will help you, me, in fact all of us. Plant today, make tomorrow green.
Solution 3:
Limit! Limit your demands! It’s not only the woodcutters to blame for this global problem, it’s because of all of us. We are the ones who demand for new furniture, for more paper. We! If we stop our demands, there they will stop their saws.
I am sure we all can live with one kind of furniture for at least 4-5 years. Then why renew it every year, waste our money and our trees.
Now, it’s all up to you. You are the one who can stop the saws of the woodcutters from reaching the trees neck. You! Your small steps will lead to big change.
If you want to help more join our ‘SAVE AND PLANT’ campaign and trees globally. You will plant trees and try to stop paper waste around the society by hanging-your own made- posters and aware people of their actions.
You will do this and help the whole world. IT’S NOW OR NEVER!
